|ex-MP Mr Stewart Jackson, musing on his future job prospects |
tells radio host Chris Mann: "When one door opens..." ... another slams in your face?
Whither Wacco? TAXI FOR JACCO ...
After a record General Election poll turnout, the good citizens of the United Kingdom City of Peterborough, can now FINALLY breath a collective sigh of relief, as news filtered out during the early hours, that a former MP for part of Peterborough, none other than Stewart Jackson, of #mpsexpenses fame (the rest of the City is in the capable hands of the re-elected Shailesh Vara MP, the former Minister for Justice, and a trained lawyer) had after twelve years living the high-life, appearing in all the top City restaurants and bagging prime theatre tickets, has paid the price, and been given a very democratic political heave ho, as #Waccos' former seat in Parliament passes to the female Labour Party candidate, herself a trained lawyer, following a significant percent swing. Cries of "Taxi for Jackson" greeted the former MP as the returning officer gamely read out the results.
Not satisfied with the count held overnight at the Peterborough Arena, 'Stewie' frantically demanded a 'bundle recount' only to find that he was still out, an ex MP, and possibly with few future prospects, certainly leaving with less hair than he had, some twelve long years ago...
[Oh come on, give him a break. He is good at...err ranting. The match day announcer post at the Posh, is still on offer! ED].
Our regular reader will know that we've never really seen eye to eye with the ex high street bank manager and now departed Stewart Jackson, we found some of his policies, and those overseas 'projects' in sunny climes, he supported on the back of his Westminster sojourn, and indeed he made great play of blocking us and dozens more on, said to be public, social media feeds, in fact anyone and everyone who even slightly disagreed with his somewhat odd line on policies. We read each and every one anyway, just didn't let on!
However we've really tried to be fair and balanced, to the ex MP. And even on the odd post given him a slight pat on the back. But he now faces trying to sell the large mansion (with swimming pool) in Peterborough, possibly downsizing even, watching his former political allies evaporate just as quickly as they were first put on the friends list twelve years ago.
We'd like to say how much we will really miss him and his cohorts, the late night twitter rants, the odd phone call, his very odd views on childrens centres and those who supported them. As we say we'd like to, but the keyboard froze and refused to co-operate but as they say on telly... as you exit the Big Brother House, here are some of your best bits: (click on link) [[[[[[[[[[[[[]]]]]]]]]]]]]
